5Conquer 7000
By Jon O
Love my reel, fished it all summer. I spooled it up with 20lb powerpro and bait fished with 6nbait. Fished with clams, pnut bunker and bunker and mullet chunks. Landed many fish with it, 10-25lb Stripers, 10-15lb Blues, fluke, skate, searobins, 3-4 foot sandsharks and even a 30-40lb Bullnose Ray, all from the surf. That fight lasted about 20 minutes, 10 minutes straight of the Ray just taking line. Reel and drag has been tested very throughly and has stood up to every fight. I paired my reel to either my 11 foot Cedros Surf or 12 foot Penn Torque Surf rods and the reel casts very well. Either rod reaches distances of close to and more than 150 yards with a OTB cast. Reel is very smooth and strong, line lay is pretty good and never had a problem with wind knots, but I also only baitfished with it. Very happy with my reel and I highly recommend it to anyone.

5Penn Conquer is a step above
By CajunAnesthesia
Excellent discount on Amazon compared to box stores, Excellent features, Life-time reel with cleaning and lubrication access door. Pulled in a huge Jack Crevalle (over 35lbs) with my CRQ 5000 on a Medium-Heavy TFO Gary Loomis Signature rod: Great Fight, best drag system I've ever experienced. Reel was comfortable and powerful even when heavily outmatched. I know have 3 of these reels.

5Well worth the money
By kevin
I'm out here in oahu fishing from a kayak and I bought the CQR 8000 and on the first day of use I hooked a 137 pound yellowfin tuna. By far the toughest fight ive had in my life. I couldnt be more pleased with the support and control I had with the CQR 8000, definetely glad I got it considering its price and the lecture I got from my wife. So if you are ready to spend some money and you prefer spinner reels I would definitely recommend this reel as part of your arsenal. Mahalo
